"Oregon Youth Ultimate is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that oversees all youth Ultimate frisbee activities in the State of Oregon. Founded in 2018, we are an official affiliate of USA Ultimate and work with players, parents, and coaches across the state to run a series of leagues and grow participation in the sport."
The Youth Club Championships are part of the larger club ultimate season, and are an opportunity for young players to compete on a national level. The best players from around the state in Under 20 and Under 17 divisions, called U20 and U17, come together to practice and eventually play at a tournament in Blaine, Minnesota. This tournament brings teams together from across the country to compete across 6 divisons: U17 and U20 with mens, womens, and mixed teams. Oregon has a history of strong teams, and Oregon Trainwreck won the tournament in 2021.
Each spring, OYU organizes an official USA Ultimate-sanctioned league for high school teams across the state. The league has three divisions–Boys Varsity, Girls/Gender Diverse, and Boys JV–and consists of a series of 5-6, one-day tournaments in different cities around the state (Portland, Bend, Eugene, Corvallis), culminating in a two-day State Championships in late May.
